Help For Your Skin With These Common Sense Tips

By Monica Ingram

Many people do not take the time to learn about skin care or to make any attempt, in properly taking care of their skin. This leads to accelerated aging and skin that is not as healthy as it should be. The following tips will help you find ways to care for your skin, in order to avoid these problems.

It is important to use a sunscreen whenever you go out, even on cloudy days. Sunscreens protect your face from harmful UV rays from the sun that can cause long-term damage to your skin. Over-exposure can lead to premature development of age spots on your face. A good sunscreen can give you protection from these harmful effects.

It is okay to moisturize. Although excess oil can be the cause of acne, many acne medications overly dry out the skin and moisturizers are the best way to remedy this. Just be sure to buy face-specific moisturizers that are labeled "non-comedogenic," which means that they will not clog your pores.

In the winter, you will notice that the air is very cold and dry, making moisturizing integral to your routine. Moisturizing your face reduces the formation of dry skin cells, which can clog your pores and cause cysts and lesions. Additionally, moisturizer improves flexibility of your face, so that you are comfortable during the day.

To enhance your skin's smoothness consider a face wash with exfoliating beads. The exfoliating beads remove dead skin which is a major contributor to clogged pores and, as a result, blemishes. Apply the face wash when you get up and right before bed. Rubbing the beads as quickly and strongly as you can without hurting yourself is recommended.

Exfoliate longer, not harder. You should never scrub when using an exfoliant, as these cleansers are made to work without pressure. Doing so can actually damage your skin. Instead, use very gentle pressure, and if you feel the need for extra exfoliation, cleanse for a longer period of time with constant, gentle pressure.

Simple, natural products are far better for your skin and your pocketbook than expensive cosmetics and products. Simply cleansing your face with pure water and a gentle natural soap once a day, refreshing your skin with witch hazel, and moisturizing with pure aloe vera gel will keep your skin fresh and young!

Use facial treatments with jasmine extract oil. This ultra-rich oil saturates the skin with antioxidants and skin-conditioning nutrients. Applying facial products that contain jasmine oil also helps to condition the skin, leaving it noticeably more smooth, even-toned, and glowing with health. These products are also ideal for anyone who suffers from overly dry, sensitive, or sun-damaged skin.

If you are trying to get clean, healthy looking skin, then you should make sure that you pat dry your body after you take a shower or after you take a bath. If you lightly pat dry, your skin will take in some of the moisture that is left on your skin, giving it a healthy look.

If your skin is easily irritated, do not take it for granted that a skincare product that claims to be "for all skin types," actually is. Instead, read the list of ingredients and avoid buying and using products that contain common irritating ingredients like camphor, menthol, witch hazel or citrus oils.

If you are trying to get better skin care, start out by trying to use a lesser expensive product. Not only do the more popular brands cost more, but they can also contain things that may irritate your skin and cause you to get worse skin than what you started with.

Relax your eyes with witch hazel instead of cucumber. Put two pads soaked with witch hazel over your eyes for several minutes. You will look more alert, awake and refreshed than before. It will also help to get rid of those under eye circles and dark bags.

You now have the information to help you to make good decisions when it comes to caring for your skin. You must be sure to take the time out of your busy life to apply these tips to your skin care regimen. If you do not have a regimen, now is the time to start one!
